Dave Zohrob and Harish Agarwal, the original co-founders of Chartable, are launching a new podcast, Smart Speakers, focused on Voice AI. Set to premiere on February 24, the show will air weekly, with Dave and Harish serving as co-hosts.
The two will be interviewing people in the field of voice AI and their show guest list will feature founders, investors, and technocrats who are shaping the future of podcasting and Voice AI. Mr. Zohrob and Agarwal will also share their journey of building a start-up from scratch using Voice AI and unpacking all the lessons and successes they have encountered in this evolving space.
From Chartable to Smart Speakers Podcast
After Spotify acquired Chartable in 2022 and shut down its standalone service, thousands of podcasters lost a crucial tool for tracking trends, measuring promotional effectiveness, and growing their audiences.
To fill this gap, Podgagement launched on December 3, 2024, providing a powerful alternative. Podgagement’s latest feature now allows podcasters to track rankings across nearly 34,000 charts on platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
AI’s Role in Podcasting
Artificial Intelligence is making waves in the podcasting world streamlining tasks like scriptwriting and production workflows. However, its impact on audience engagement remains a topic of debate, dividing the podcasting community between enthusiasts and skeptics.
In the latest episode of PodcastingTech, Jordan Thibodeau, a tech veteran and co-host of the SVIC Podcast, discussed AI’s growing role in reducing backend workload, enabling creators to focus more on storytelling and generating quality content.
"The entire editing process and backend operations will be streamlined, making podcasting more efficient. This will allow podcasters to focus on what truly matters—sharing their stories with the world," Jordan noted.
He expressed a desire for AI agents that could manage a plethora of backend tasks associated with podcast production, such as uploading content and navigating through various mandatory disclaimers and settings on platforms like YouTube.
"If I had an AI agent that could handle that for me, I’d offload and automate the entire process—that’s exactly what I want. I need an AI-powered assistant that seamlessly integrates the various software tools I use, requires no coding, and acts as my low-level production assistant and editor," he told host Mathew Passy.
With Smart Speakers, Dave and Harish are set to explore these evolving AI-driven changes in podcasting—offering insights, expert interviews, and their firsthand experiences as startup founders in the Voice AI space.
